Lab Culture

The lab is a great place for anyone who is ambitious, driven by their curiosity, and interested in continually learning and implementing new ideas into their work. We are a small team and we place great value on friendly collaboration within the lab, and fostering this through a respectful and stimulating environment. Although we each have our own projects, we routinely help each other out with troubleshooting both experiments and code. We also try our best to make the lab (and science in general) an equitable, diverse, and inclusive space, so that all of our members can grow and develop as scientists and achieve their personal goals.

We currently have joint lab meetings/journal clubs every 2 weeks together with our friendly neighbors in the Oldenburg Lab. Within the lab we all interact on an almost daily basis and Aaron’s door is always open for a chat (bar the occasional zoom meeting)!

Our department also has a very friendly and collaborative environment and get together every Thursday for the weekly tea/snack time, as well as for occasional seminars.
